Our Mission
With this event, our mission is to create a trauma-informed, dignity-centered, and compassionate resource fair that supports individuals experiencing homelessness in our community through equitable access to essential services, respectful care, and meaningful human connection. We are committed to fostering an environment in which every guest feels safe, welcomed, valued, and respected, and in which support is offered not as charity, but as an expression of solidarity, shared humanity, and community responsibility.
We believe that service must be rooted in empathy and guided by respect. Our goal is not only to provide immediate resources, but also to affirm the inherent worth of every individual, reduce the isolation and stigma too often experienced by those facing housing insecurity, and demonstrate that care can be both practical and profoundly humane. Through collaboration among students, faculty, and community partners, we seek to model a community response that is thoughtful, organized, and grounded in kindness.
At its core, this event stands as a reflection of SDSU students' conviction that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, to be met with compassion, and to know that they are not invisible. By bringing together campus and community in service of this mission, we hope not only to meet urgent needs, but also to foster trust, restore dignity, and remind every guest that they are worthy of care, respect, and belonging.
